Andersen Replacement Window Types

Andersen Windows Andersen Wood Windows
Anderson wood windows are made in a variety of stock sizes. For new construction, this is no problem; you choose the window style and size you want and the builder frames the rough window opening appropriately. But for replacing old windows, you find the closest fit and then shim and trim to make them work. This is critical for windows to open and close as easily as in the demo room as your living room.

Andersen's wood windows are very attractive and would be worth a good look for someone replacing wood windows with wood windows whose primary concern is not cost or durability.

Andersen Fibrex Windows Andersen Fibrex Windows
Fibrex windows are a unique product that is made by Andersen Corporation. Basically it is a composite material that is made of wood fibers mixed with copolymers or epoxy resins. The division that carriers this product line is called Renewal by Andersen and their presence in the window marketplace is to sell replacement windows, as opposed to Andersen which primarily sells to the new construction industry.

Fibrex replacement windows will not rot, or need maintenance of any kind. It is not a wood clad product so there is no natural wood at all that could deteriorate over time. In addition it can be painted and has more of a traditional wood window look than an all vinyl model. This product line is very expensive relative to all other lines that are out there and thus suffers from a reputation of being overpriced.
